A computer repair technician is a classification for an individual who repairs and maintains computers and servers. The technician's responsibilities may include building or configuring new hardware, installing and updating software packages, and creating and maintaining computer networks.
Computer repair technicians often work in a variety of settings, encompassing both the public and private sectors. Many schools and other institutions offer certification courses to prepare new technicians, but computer repairs are frequently performed by experienced and certified technicians who have little formal training in this relatively new field.
There are many positions available for the repair technician, including in a corporate information technology department, within a central service center, or a retail computer sales environment just to name a few. Public sector jobs are also available for experienced computer repair technicians in the military, national security, health and public safety or law enforcement communities.
There are also specialties within this sector, including data recovery, system administration, or information systems. Although some technicians are self-employed, many work for a firm that provides services in a regional area. Problems can range from a minor setting that is incorrect, to spyware, viruses, and as far as replacing hardware or an entire operating system.
Please note: We do not sell or rent our lists or contact information (see privacy policy). We review each registration to determine if the profession is compatible with our network. Not all registrations will be accepted. Acceptance is NEVER based on race, gender, religion, family status, or gender preference.

When readying your hom...
